LAPA has or is part of several events over the course of a year. Our regular events include our:

Every year we have a Family Weekend Get-Away. This year we again went to The Rocking Horse Ranch. Since the 2009 LAPA turnout was GREAT, Rocking Horse has offered similar great rates for the weekend before Thanksgiving in 2010. Please contact us for more information.

Highland, New York in the Shawangunk Mountains

Rooms still available. Resort has blocked rooms for us at special rates. Members in good standing do not have to pay sales tax.

Call 800-647-2624, ask for Group Reservations and don't forget to tell them you are with the LAPA group. Adults: $250/each. Children: ages 4-15: $100. Under 4: FREE. + 15% service charge, but no New York tax because of LAPA's tax-exempt status. All people attending the ranch should be up-to-date with membership. Includes all meals and activities.     From Manhattan:
    Queens Midtown Tunnel to Long Island Expressway to Cross Island Parkway South to Jericho Turnpike East (Exit 27). * Follow Jericho Turnpike 1/2 mile or so east . Make the fourth right after Tulip Avenue onto South Tyson Avenue. Make the second left onto Elizabeth Street. Park on the street. The hall is on the left side.

    From Staten Island and Brooklyn:
    Take Belt Parkway eastbound to Cross Island Parkway North to Jericho Turnpike East (Exit 27). See above *

    From Westchester:
    Throgs Neck Bridge to Cross Island Parkway South to Jericho Turnpike East (Exit 27). See above *

    From Long Island:
    Southern State West to Cross Island Parkway to Jericho Turnpike East (Exit 27). See above *

    Via Long Island Railroad From Penn Station or Brooklyn
    Take the train to the Floral Park railroad station. After getting off the train on the eastbound platform (south side of the tracks), descend the steps and proceed to the north side under the trestle. You will be on Tyson Ave. and will see Koenig's Restaurant on the corner of Tyson Ave. and S. Tyson Ave. Make a left on that corner and walk up S. Tyson Ave for two blocks to Elizabeth St. Make a right onto Elizabeth St. and the American Legion Hall is on the left side of the block, at 15 Elizabeth St.

Directions To Westbury Friends Society, 550 Post Avenue, Westbury, NY

    From Brooklyn and Staten Island:
    Take Belt Parkway eastbound to Cross Island Parkway North, to Grand Central Parkway East, which becomes Northern State Parkway East, to Exit 32, Post Avenue. Make left turn onto Post Avenue North. Make second right into driveway (first right after black iron fence.

    From Eastern Long Island:
    Northern State Parkway Westbound to Exit 32, Post Avenue. Make right turn onto Post Avenue North. See above.

    From Westchester:
